Susan holds two degrees in vocal performance—a bachelor’s from Simpson College and a master’s from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She joined Plymouth in 2006 after nine years at Walnut Hills United Methodist Church, where she was responsible for creating and developing a music ministry for children, youth and adults.
In addition to her experience as a choral director, she has taught private voice as an adjunct professor at Simpson College and in the Community School of Music at Drake University. Susan is both a soprano soloist and an accomplished pianist. She is pursuing a certificate in spiritual direction.
Susan and her husband Chad are the parents of two sons, Grant and Gavin. The family lives in the country near Van Meter.
