PLYMOUTH GALLERY
MISSION STATEMENT
To connect with people by creating original, elegant, artistic pieces, merging traditional techniques with inventive designs which please the eye and enrich the spirit.
NOW SHOWING: Watercolors by Mary Homeier
Mary has been an artist for more than 60 years. Her best work has been inspired by ideas and objects around her, part real, part imagination. Her life’s work has produced watercolors, oil paintings, drawings and linoleum block printing, also known as linocuts.
She grew up near Dayton, Iowa where she attended High School. She continued her education at Drake University as an art major, and received a B.A. in art from the University of Northern Iowa and an M.A. in Art Education from the University of Iowa. She taught art at Hampton, Cedar Falls and Newton schools for 25 years. She then worked for the State Historical Society of Iowa until her retirement in 1991.
Mary has enjoyed being included in juried art exhibits, art fairs, and has had numerous personal exhibits over the years. She is a signature member of the Iowa Watercolor Society.
She believes that creating art work can make the world a better place.
