Plymouth Women Adventure Groups (PWAG)

PWAG Archery 2016

Adventure groups are for women of all ages, life stages and interests seeking safe, liberating adventures to enhance the mind, body or spirit. Participants will be placed into groups of eight women according to their self-selected activity and monetary comfort levels. Each group commits to plan/attend eight adventures over the next year (two/season: fall, winter, spring, summer). Enrollment occurs in September of each program year.

Enjoy a night out to chat, laugh and relax with fellow moms of young children. We meet once a month, usually on the first Thursday of the month 7:30 to 9 p.m. (although we adjust for holidays), at different restaurants around Des Moines. Our goal is to take time for ourselves, to connect, share our joys, challenges and concerns. Whether you are a member of Plymouth or not, please join us. Please download a MOMs schedule 2015-16.

Contact Andrea Blake at if you have questions or would like more information about this group.

On the fourth Monday of each month throughout the year we gather at 7:30 p.m. either in the host’s home or at a local restaurant. Moms take turns selecting the month’s book, selecting the location, and leading the related discussion. For more information, contact Plymouth member Judy Diedrichs, 515.271.9184 or

Look for information on upcoming books and meeting locations in the Contact newsletter and Current Happenings.

Women of all ages gather every fourth Thursday of the month in the Inspiration Lounge in the Center for Spiritual Growth at 7 p.m. for a lively discussion of an interesting book. New voices are always welcome. For more information, contact Jean Nelson at 515.255.5019.

Plymouth Women gather on the third Thursday of the month at 12:15 p.m. from September through June (no January meeting) for lunch, fellowship, and a program. All are welcome. Reservations must be called in to the church office, 515.255.3149, by 10 a.m. the Tuesday before the luncheon. Payment is due at the luncheon; unfulfilled reservations must still be paid. For more information, contact Plymouth member Ann Raftis, 515.276.3400.

All women are invited to meet for the purpose of spiritual growth every Thursday morning in the Burling Room from 7-8 a.m. Join us as we put into practice the WISE statement of purpose: To focus on and grow through the experience of Our Spirit, in a community of love, friendship and spiritual intimacy. To support, nurture and exercise Our Spirit through meditation, prayer, study, work and play…and by being together. For more information, contact Roz Kendall, administrative assistant for Center for Spiritual Growth, at 515.255.3149, or

Many women find fellowship and spiritual fulfillment by attending this ongoing study class. The weekly bible study, which is open to all Plymouth members, is led by Matt Mardis-LeCroy, Senior Minister. It provides an opportunity to enrich the experience of Sunday worship by going deeper with the texts for the week. Everyone is welcome and no preparation is required. The group meets in the Burling Room every Wednesday, 9:30 – 11 a.m. Check the Events Calendar for meeting time and location during the summer.
