    Community and Connection: focUS Workshop

    Waveland Hall

What are the gifts of belonging to a church community? Christopher Heuertz, author of the book, Unexpected Gifts: Discovering the Way of Community, will lead a workshop at Plymouth Church that will help us to strengthen our sense of community and connection.

Heuertz has spent his life bearing witness to the possibility of hope among a world that has legitimate reasons to question God’s goodness. In addition to authoring books, he is also a frequent contributor in such publications as Christianity Today, Relevant Magazine, The Work of the People and the Washington Post’s “On Faith” section. He currently runs Gravity: a Center for Contemplative Activism in Omaha with his wife, Phileena.

This workshop will take place on the morning of Jan. 26 and will include lunch. There is no charge to attend, but space is limited. Please reserve your spot below.

The Preaching of Paul and a Punk Rock Song: Acts 13 and 14

This week’s Scripture reading reminds me of a punk rock song. No, seriously. Belfast’s own Stiff Little Fingers has a song called “Nobody’s Hero.” It’s a (loud, angry) reminder that human beings have a habit of trusting too much in mere mortals. But the thing is: you don’t need a punk rock song to... Read More
