We all need a plan for our money, no matter what stage of life you are in. Whether you are a recent college graduate finding your first job, a parent trying to save for your child’s college education or someone planning for retirement, this class is designed to help you be the best steward of your financial resources. Financial Peace University is a 9-week course developed for church use by Dave Ramsey to teach the basics of money management. The class meets for two hours and includes a video lesson by Dave Ramsey and class discussion and interactive small group activities to teach practical steps to create a household budget, manage your money wisely and get free of debt. Sample class topics include: Super Saving, Relating with Money, Cash Flow Planning, Dumping Debt, Retirement and College Planning, and the Role of Insurance.
The Board of Christian Stewardship has offered this class in recent years with many households participating. A group snapshot taken at the beginning and end of each 9-week session measures the amount of money saved and debt reduced. The families taking the course at Plymouth have reported an average of $4,333 in reduced debt and $5,179 in average savings – very comparable to the advertised results.
