A Note from Jared Wortman: October 25

October 25, 2021

What a difference a week can make!

It was such an incredible joy to be with our new church family at Plymouth last week. Throughout the senior pastor search process, I was repeatedly told that Plymouth Church is a remarkable congregation filled with interesting, thoughtful, and dedicated people. This was a truth I experienced firsthand as you extended a gracious and hospitable welcome. I am excited to be with you all — and the incredibly talented staff — toward the end of November.

Yesterday, I shared the news with Peachtree Christian Church that our family will be moving to Plymouth. It was the beginning of what will be several weeks filled with bittersweet goodbyes amid packing boxes and finishing out our more than five years in Atlanta. Yet, despite all of the deep emotions accompanying leaving a place we’ve called home, we’ve felt a renewed energy with everything now full steam ahead.

As we prepare to be together soon, I want to specifically express my sincere gratitude to the search committee, Rev. Sarai Rice, and the staff. In their own ways, each of them has worked diligently to ensure that the next chapter at Plymouth will be full of potential and vitality. I hope you’ll join me in thanking them for their dedication, sacrifice, and commitment for the sake of our common life together.

With hope for what the future holds,
Rev. Dr. Jared Wortman
Senior Pastor Elect
