Holy Week 2023

Saturday, April 1

  • Plymouth Family Easter Festival  |  10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
    Join us for Plymouth’s Family Easter Festival on the Upper Level Parking Lot. (Alternative location due to weather will be Waveland Hall). Come and go for crafts, games, LEGO, Egg Hunt challenges, and an Easter Story Walk. Activities and prizes will be available for children of all ages! Youth and Adults are needed to help with various stations. Sign up to volunteer here.
  • Saturday Night Worship  |  5:30 p.m.

 

Sunday, April 2  |  Palm Sunday

  • Palm Sunday Worship Service  |  9 & 11 a.m.
    Join us with your friends and family for worship services in the Sanctuary. The services will be led by (9) the K-12 choirs, (11) Chancel Choir, and organ, with preaching by Senior Pastor Jared Wortman.
  • Palm Sunday Parade  |  10:15 a.m.
    Between services on Palm Sunday, Plymouth members and friends are invited to gather at the church and for a procession of the palms around the block of the church.

 

Tuesday, April 4

  • Walk the Stations of the Cross  |  7 p.m.
    Join Plymouth’s pastoral staff for a guided meditation and reflection as we Walk the Stations of the Cross in the Sanctuary.

 

Thursday, April 6  |  Maundy Thursday

  • Maundy Thursday Dinner: 5:30-7 p.m.
    Plymouth’s Board of Membership invites you to gather for a meal as a church and enjoy fellowship with one another before our Maundy Thursday service in the Sanctuary. Cost is $15 per person. Register here. Registrations end Thursday, March 30 at noon.
  • Maundy Thursday Service: 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary
    The Chancel Choir leads Plymouth’s traditional service of Maundy Thursday Communion around the table, as we observe the Last Supper, followed by the Tenebrae reading as we journey with Christ through Holy Week and descend into darkness.

 

Friday, April 7  |  Good Friday

  • Walk the Labyrinth  |  12-9 p.m.
    Come walk the Labyrinth alone or with a small group in the comfort of Waveland Hall.There is time for you to walk while meditating or praying, to sit quietly listening to soft music or to draw and write your thoughts and prayers.
  • Good Friday Service  |  7:30 p.m.
    Join us in the Sanctuary as we receive communion and walk through the events of Holy Week as we journey to the Crucifixion. The Chancel Choir with orchestra will present Song of the Shadows, a Tenebrae Cantata by Joseph M. Martin to mark Good Friday.

 

Saturday, April 8  |  Holy Saturday

  • Holy Saturday Retreat  |  9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
    Together and alone, we will read and re-read from Jesus’ last words to his disciples in the Gospel of John. The reading will be supplemented with film, quiet reflection time, conversation, and prayer, opening us and re-remembering us to our deepest knowing, our unbreakable connection to God, and our place amid the complex of systems in which we live. Sunday, April 9  |  Easter Sunday

  • Easter Word & Table Service  |  8 a.m.
    This short contemplative Easter service will include Scripture readings, prayer, short meditation, and communion.
  • Traditional Easter Services  |  9 & 11 a.m.
    Join us with your friends and family in the celebration of the risen Christ and life restored at our Easter Sunday worship services at 9 and 11 a.m. in the Sanctuary. The services will be led by (9) the Matins Choir, (11) Chancel Choir, Plymouth Brass, and organ, with preaching by Senior Pastor Jared Wortman.
