Palm Procession & Service for Peace

The annual Palm Sunday Procession for Peace will be held April 10. Plymouth people and others will gather between 2:45-3 p.m. at the Des Moines Intentional Eucharistic Community, 3306 University (park in the North parking lot). Participants will walk to Grace United Methodist Church, 3700 Cottage Grove. A donkey will lead the procession in remembrance of Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem. Participants are invited to carry signs with a commitment to oppose war and work for justice and peace at home and abroad. The speaker at the 3:30 p.m. Service for Peace will be Bishop Elizabeth Lockwood Hawley Monnot of the Episcopal Diocese of Iowa, with the theme “Who Are My Adversaries?” This service will be live streamed. Plymouth’s Peace & Justice Committee is a co-sponsor of this event.
