Palm Procession & Service for Peace

The annual Palm Sunday Procession for Peace will be held April 10. Plymouth people and others will gather between 2:45-3 p.m. at the Des Moines Intentional Eucharistic Community, 3306 University (park in the North parking lot). Participants will walk to Grace United Methodist Church, 3700 Cottage Grove. A donkey will lead the procession in remembrance of Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem. Participants are invited to carry signs with a commitment to oppose war and work for justice and peace at home and abroad. The speaker at the 3:30 p.m. Service for Peace will be Bishop Elizabeth Lockwood Hawley Monnot of the Episcopal Diocese of Iowa, with the theme “Who Are My Adversaries?” This service will be live streamed.
