Pastoral Care & Connection
- March 18th, 2020
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Grace and peace to you from God who loves you so very much.
So here is where Plymouth is with Pastoral Care and Connection. The note from last week still stands. Facilities and Buildings and Hospitals and Churches are on lock-down. And your pastors and staff remain available to you via phone calls and e-mails, Facebook and the website and YouTube. Call us. Write us. Check in and tune in and stay connected.
And if a pastoral emergency arises that we cannot address over the phone, we will figure out how to care in person. You simply have to communicate with us. And ask for what you need. We all take our ordination vows very seriously. I, personally, made my vows to care for the People of God, with my hands held by my Bishop, and a host of other Pastors’ hands heavy on my head and shoulders. YOUR FIVE PASTORS signed up for this. Please don’t hesitate to reach out!
As far as the day to day check-ins with the congregation, we need your help. This is a huge church, and even though your pastors and staff would like to be able to be able to call every member, we simply can’t Would you be willing to get a list of five or ten members to make phone calls to on a regular basis? Please let me know, and I will get you a list: firstname.lastname@example.org.
While Pastor Nikira is up and running with community outreach opportunities, I am wondering if any of you would like to help with caring for our members by making grocery or pharmacy runs? Please let me know.
Would you like to receive some help from one of our members? Please be in contact with me and let me know how your church can be most helpful to you at this time.
Also, please send your prayer requests to me, and I will keep the prayer list updated.
We are in this together! It’s time to get creative! The more we communicate with each other, the better off we will all be.
Please stay in touch!
