Plymouth’s New Sunday Schedule

Plymouth’s New Sunday Schedule

We have started our new Sunday worship schedule! We have many offerings for all ages available. We’re taking things up a notch, and we couldn’t be more excited. In this email, you’ll find details about all of the offerings. Please note that masks are required for all adults and children ages 2+ (except at breakfast) until further notice.

Breakfast & Fellowship
From 8:15-10:30 a.m., breakfast will be available in Greenwood/Burling. Doors will be opened into the Courtyard. First Sunday of each month, a hot breakfast will be offered. This is a great opportunity for fellowship! Breakfast will transition to cookies and coffee at 10:30 a.m., and Greenwood/Burling will remain open for fellowship until 1 p.m.

Childcare
Childcare will available on a limited basis. We are able to care for up to 8 children at a time. All childcare takes place on the first floor. If you will be in need of childcare, please contact Georgia Sheriff in advance about availability. Please click here to sign up your child for Sunday, September 12.

  • 10-10:45 a.m. | Childcare will be available for up to 8 children infant to 2.
  • 10:45-12 p.m. | Childcare will be available for up to 8 children infant to 5.

9 a.m. Worship Service
This is a shortened worship service with the specific aim of making it more accessible to people of all ages, children especially. We hope to form a new generation of people who find joy and delight in worship and that begins by worshiping together. This service will be live streamed on our Facebook page and YouTube channel.

10 a.m. Church School Offerings for All Ages
The following offerings will be available during the 10 a.m. hour between services this fall. We hope to continue to expand this offering hour with a robust, varied, and frequently changing schedule of classes in faith formation hosted by clergy and lay leaders.

Church School for Kids
Children age 3 to grade 6 are invited to join Church School each Sunday at 10 a.m. virtually or in-person. In-person Church School will be held on the first floor. Church School will be offered via Zoom on Sundays at 11:15 and Wednesdays at 6 p.m. You can contact Georgia Sheriff about any Church School questions.

Church School for Youth
All youth grade 7-12 will be welcome to join our youth programming at 10 a.m. This will begin later in October. More details are to come.

Church School for Adults:

Forum
Our Forum will continue to meet at 10 a.m., but will be moved to Waveland 1-2. Conversations are led by the weekend’s preaching pastor and sometimes guest speakers will join us. Forum will continue to be a hybrid offering on Zoom. Click here to access the link to join.

Animate: Faith
Join us at 10 a.m. in Waveland 3-4 to explore issues of faith and spirituality through the seven-week Animate: Faith series. Each session kicks off with a short video from a leading Christian thinker to help us dig into and discuss our own beliefs, questions, and experiences. Up first is “God: Faith Is a Quest,” a video from Brian McLaren—pastor, author, and leader in the emerging church movement. Sponsored by the Board of Spiritual Growth and Adult Education.

What Happened to You?
Join the Stephen Ministers in the Coffee Shop at 10 a.m. beginning Sunday, October 3. We have been caught up in a worldwide pandemic for over a year. Most of us survived a year that included a lot of isolation, caught up in a vacuum, without our church family by our side. All of us have joy and grief we weren’t able to experience fully because we were not living in community with one another. We need to catch up!

11 a.m. Worship Service
This worship service will continue with some modifications to the liturgy to more fully engage people of all ages. This service will be live streamed on our Facebook page and YouTube channel.

After-Worship Fellowship
From 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Greenwood/Burling and the Courtyard will remain open for fellowship time with cookies and coffee.

Discover Plymouth
Our next Discover Plymouth will start on September 19! Lead by members of our Board of Membership, the class will meet on three Sunday afternoons from 1-2:30 p.m. We will talk about who we are, how we worship, and how we are working to serve our central Iowa community. Come join us and see if Plymouth is the right church home for you. Click here to sign up!
