Erin Marth

Pastor of Congregational Care
she/her

Erin will begin at Plymouth Dec. 5

Rev. Erin Marth is a farm kid from Northern Iowa and a graduate of Iowa State University. Her first career of community organizing brought her to the Philippines, Iowa, Florida, and Minnesota, where she had the privilege of working alongside dedicated community members in the work of human rights, civil rights, immigrant rights, and worker rights.

Along the way, Erin started to feel a pull toward seminary, not knowing where exactly that would lead. She earned her Master of Divinity degree from Bethel Seminary, fulfilled her chaplain residency in the Twin Cities, and then served for the next few years as the Director of Christian Education at Westminster Presbyterian in Des Moines. After being ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacrament through the Presbyterian Church (USA), Erin first served a church in Western Illinois before moving into the specialized work of intentional transitional ministry in the Chicago area.

While Erin’s vocational journey has led her into many different communities and fields of service, the connecting thread through it all has been spiritual care and community building. Erin loves getting to know people, celebrating the gifts and passions within them, journeying through the peaks and valleys of life together, and fostering supportive connections.

Outside of work, you’ll find Erin walking her sweet beagle Duncan, gathering over a meal with friends, singing and playing guitar, practicing Spanish, creating anything and everything, and digging her hands into the dirt in her garden.
