Sohee Lee is a South Korean–born organist and church musician based in Des Moines, Iowa. She serves as Organist/Associate Director of Music at Plymouth Church, where she contributes to a vibrant liturgical and arts program through organ performance, choral collaboration, and music leadership. Since joining the staff in August 2022, she has played a central role in shaping worship through weekly service playing, accompanying ensembles, and supporting congregational and community music initiatives. 

Originally from Seoul, South Korea, Sohee began her academic studies in environmental engineering at the University of Seoul, earning a Bachelor of Engineering before pursuing music full time. She completed a Master of Church Music with an organ concentration at the Presbyterian Seminary and later continued advanced organ performance studies at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where she earned both a Master of Music and an Artist Diploma. 

An active collaborative musician, Sohee performs regularly with choirs and vocal artists, serves as collaborative artist for the Des Moines Vocal Arts Ensemble, and is the College Organist at Simpson College, Indianola. Her artistry is marked by expressive accompaniment, stylistic versatility, and a deep sensitivity to text and liturgical context. 

Sohee is married to Christopher Goodson, Director of Music and Arts at Plymouth Church. The couple was married in a public ceremony at Plymouth on May 3, 2024, and they collaborate frequently as colleagues and performers, including shared work in community music settings. 

Outside of music, Sohee enjoys reading comic books and playing games and is known for her warm, approachable teaching style and dedication to both the spiritual and artistic dimensions of church music.
