Nov. 2: Creation Care Book Read

Exploring the awesome wonders of the natural world is a powerful way to find hope and inspiration in these turbulent times.

Join the Plymouth Creation Care & Justice Committee as we discuss the book, “World of Wonders: In Praise of Fireflies, Whale Sharks, and Other Astonishments”, by Aimee Nezhukumatathil.

Through a series of personal essays based on her own research and travels, the author explores the mysteries and eccentricities of some of God’s often overlooked yet wonderous creatures – from narwals to touch-me-not-plants – and shows us the lessons we can learn from them.

Cathy McMullen, a faculty member at ISU’s Department of Natural Resource Ecology and Management, will lead the conversation Sunday, Nov. 2, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Common Grounds.

Pick up a copy of the book at the Welcome Desk (free while supplies last) or buy at Beaverdale Bookstore.

Copies also are available at Des Moines area libraries.
